In June 2007 and July 2008, over 100 equestrian enthusiasts attended Walter Zettl weekend clinics at HDI in Peterborough, Ontario. On October 11th & 12th, HDI welcomes back Walter to teach riders and auditors how to create a harmonious partnership between horse and rider.
Walter Zettl is considered to be one of the world's most accomplished masters of classical dressage training and a true advocate for the welfare of his beloved horses. He is also a much sought-after teacher and clinician, who is known for his warm and sympathetic approach to teaching.
Born in Czechoslovakia in 1929, he was trained in Germany, working for many years under the esteemed Col. Aust, for whom he eventually became First Assistant in 1955. He received many honors through the years, including the German Federation's Gold Riding Medal, for which he was the youngest ever recipient at the age of 21. He received his Reitlehrer certification after reaching the minimum age of 25.
For the last twenty years Walter Zettl has continued his lifelong work of teaching riders the art of dressage combined with communication with the horse. He has also written many articles for German and US publications such as USDF Connection and Dressage Today. In 1998 his book 'Dressage In Harmony' was published and has released a five volume DVD instructional series called 'A Matter of Trust.'
