HDI hosted several clinics in 2009 and would like to thank Jean, Keegan, Christine, Tammy, and CA for helping to organize the clinics.

HDI would also like to specially thank Walter, Heidi, riders and auditors who support the clinics each year.  

KENYA HOPE

Carolyn Maskens, a Peterborough resident and long time boarder at Hoekstra Dressage set a goal to raise $5,000 to purchase two dairy cows and agricultural supplies for the shelter in Kenya.

The shelter, located just outside of the Ngong Hills, 40 kilometres from Nairobi, is home to more than 130 boys and girls, ages 3 to 21. The orphanage provides the children with a home, food, clothing and an education.

In May of 2009, Carolyn surpassed her goal and raised over $20.000 in donations through Kenya Hope!  Two cows, Hope and Tumaini were purchased and are producing 50L of milk a day for the shelter.

Carolyn's goal for this year is to raise $5000 by June 2010 to finance the insemination, feeding and maintenance of the cows so that the children will continue to receive daily milk.   All donations will support the milk project to ensure continued milk production for another year.
